How to read these charts

Spot is not what you pay

The charts show the spot price. Coins and bars cost more than spot; the difference is the premium. What’s a fair premium?

Match the range to your plans

If you plan to hold for years, a bad week matters less than the 5-year or all-time trend.

Watch percentages, not just dollars

A $20 move means more for silver than for gold. The change shown on each chart includes the percentage.

What history can’t tell you

Past prices don’t predict future prices. We don’t forecast gold or silver, and nothing on this page is advice to buy or sell. Prices can fall as well as rise.
